Landscape Consultation
On-site Consultation:
This is the first step. Sarah will come out to your site and answer your
gardening questions, offer advice and solutions to problems, identify any
existing plants, and share her ideas on basic garden design dilemmas. This first
meeting generally lasts 1 1/2 to 2 hours, depending on how many questions you
have. After the meeting Sarah will return to the office and prepare a packet of
information tailored to your needs.
Additional Consulting: Time After the initial meeting if more consulting is needed (office research or on site help). Some clients choose to not hire The Gardensmith for a complete landscape design but prefer to design it them selves and call Sarah out to consult when they have questions or
need Sarah to find a solution to a problem.
Landscape Design
Concept Plan: This is a plan that will show the layout of the landscape. It generally will address the flow of traffic through the landscape, the
placement of major features (lawn, patios, decks, water, beds & borders) and may include key plantings. Prices depend on the scope of the project; they will be quoted after the initial on-site consultation.
Plant List: If you have an existing landscape that has a nice layout, but needs some new plants; a plant list might be what you need. Sarah can create a list of plants that will complement your landscape as well as meet your maintenance requirements. The list includes the common name, botanical name (the Latin name that you should use when shopping for the plant), and a short description of the plant and it's care requirements.
Planting Plan: This combines the concept plan (in more detail) with the plant list in one document that contains all of the elements for a complete landscape. This plan can be used for installing the complete landscape right away, or it can be installed in small bits as the time and money budgets allow.
Plant Shopping: The Gardensmith can shop for and deliver plants for your landscape projects, or Sarah can meet you at a nursery of your choice and help you to select the best plants for your money.
The services of a local plant broker will be recommended if The Gardensmith
determines that to be the most cost effective option for you.
